Real Voices in a World of Synthetic Everything
We are living through the slowest disappearing act in history — and most of us are too distracted to notice it.
Something is happening to our sense of what is real. We are being filled — every hour, every scroll — with images, videos, and voices that look like human experience but were assembled without any. Synthetic content does not announce itself. It just accumulates, quietly, until the line between what was lived and what was generated becomes impossible to find.
407 Films exists because of that feeling. Not as a protest — as a counterweight.
The films we make are about people who did something hard. Who showed up somewhere they were not supposed to be, without a roadmap, often without support, and did it anyway. Athletes, artists, pioneers — people who built something real at real cost. We put them on screen not to inspire in the easy, motivational sense, but to remind audiences of something they already know and keep forgetting: that the things worth having require something from you.
The World We Are Making Films For
We are heading toward a world designed for minimum effort. Everything optimized, smoothed, delivered. And with that comes something nobody talks about: a weakening. A shrinking tolerance for difficulty, for uncertainty, for the long process of becoming good at something.
The stories we tell push back against that. Not loudly — cinema is not a lecture. But a film about Eliseo Salazar driving a Formula 1 car in 1982, alone among people who did not expect him to be there, does something to an audience that no amount of content can do. It reminds them what a human being is capable of when they decide to find out.
Why Miami
407 Films is based in Miami. Not because of tax incentives — Florida ended those. Because Miami is a city that genuinely lives between two worlds. The culture, the energy, the mix of people who came from somewhere and built something here — it moves you. It keeps you honest about what stories matter and who they belong to.
The Latin American stories we are drawn to are not regional stories with a global audience. They are global stories that happen to be told in Spanish, rooted in cultures that the mainstream has mostly looked past. Miami understands both sides of that equation. It is the right place to make these films.
What We Are Building
Our first projects — Eliseo, a docuseries about Chilean Formula 1 and IndyCar driver Eliseo Salazar, and a feature documentary about Marcelo Ríos, the first Latin American to reach world number one in tennis — are films about people who got somewhere extraordinary and paid a price the scoreboard never recorded.
We are at the beginning. We do not pretend otherwise. What we have is a clear sense of the stories we want to tell, the way we want to tell them, and why it matters that someone does.
In a world of synthetic everything, real human voices are not a niche. They are the thing people are quietly desperate for.
